Lagardère launches new blue-chip doc producer

Lagardère Entertainment is launching a new production outfit specialising in blue chip documentary projects. Called With LNoA Productions, the freshly minted prodco will be managed by Alexandre Soulier, reporting in turn to Takis Candilis.

Announced in La Rochelle during festival Sunny Side of the Doc, the new structure will develop 52 and 90 minute natural history, adventure and discovery formats.

Lagardere said that several projects are already underway and in development with French broadcasters and international partners.

These include a project  for TV and theatrical release developed with Canadian partner Lowik Media, The Mangroves: paradise unbound is a 1x90mins investigation into the shrimp business in Mexico. It will examine its impact on mangroves and the global ecosystem and the villages that are threatened by drug dealers who use the aquaculture business for money laundering. This documentary will be released in theaters in North America.
