MTV inks raft of program sales
MTV Networks International has sold a raft of its programming across Europe and in Latin America.
The international distribution arm of the Viacom-owned broadcaster has sold The Daily Show with John Stewart to Danish public broadcaster DR, while Portuguese commercial broadcaster TVI has picked up teen TV movie American Mall, which is produced by the team behind High School Musical.
The company has also sold a number of its kids series to a range of free-to-air networks. Chile Canal 13, Costa Rica’s Teletica, Ecuador’s Teleamazonas, Mexico’s Televisa, Panama’s Medcom and Venezuela’s Venevision have all acquired live action series iCarly. Meanwhile, Argentina’s Artear, Brazil’s Globo, Chile’s Megavision, Columbia’s RCN, Mexico’s Televisa and Peru’s America TV have all picked up Nickelodeon’s animated series Back at the Barnyard.
