Comarex shopping Berlin Wall dramas to Latin buyers

Mexican distributor Comarex has taken Latin rights to a pair of European event dramas from Germany’s Bavaria Media TV and Italy’s Mediaset.

It will start selling German-produced Behind the Wall and Italy-produced Tunnel to Freedom at next month’s LA Screenings.

Comarex, the program sales arm of Mexico’s second-ranked free-to-air broadcaster, has taken the Latin rights to the shows from Bavaria Media Television and Mediaset distribution respectively.

Tunnel to Freedom is a 2x100mins drama, set in the 1960s, about two friends tunnelling under the Berlin Wall. It is produced by R.T.I., Palomar Endemol, Focus Film and Kasander 2004. Behind the Wall is a 1x90mins drama about a family separated by the Berlin Wall.

As well as handling Latin sales of Bavaria Media and Mediaset product in Latin America, Comarex also distributes content from IMG and Studio 100 in the region.
