Former AOL boss Miller confirmed as News Corp’s digital boss
Jon Miller, former CEO of AOL, is to become CEO, Digital Media at News Corp and will be in charge of all of the company’s digital and mobile businesses. Miller will report directly to Rupert Murdoch. This follows the recently announced departure of COO Peter Chernin and subsequent management shuffle.
Miller, who was ousted from AOL by Time Warner execs in 2006, has since been running venture capital company Velocity Interactive Group with Ross Levinsohn, investing in companies including digital producer Generate, online video platform Next New Networks and Indian broadcaster NDTV.
Peter Levinsohn, who is currently president of Fox Interactive Media, which operates divisions including Myspace, is set to return to the Fox Television Studio under Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman.
