Cartoon Network US grapples with hit UK series

Hit UK kids series Thumb Wrestling Federation: TWF is about to bow in the US on Cartoon Network.

The show is regularly the most-watched kids programme in the UK, where it airs on the CBBC channel. Now Cartoon Network has picked up an array of international rights including the US and the show will make its US debut on November 3rd.

Catroon Network US will air seasons two through four, Monday to Friday in an after-school slot, in the 2008/2009 broadcast season. The US deal was brokered by rights agency Al Ovadia & Associates.

A half-hour best of show will screen on Saturday and the in-show presenters, Dick Thompson and Colonel Cossack, will feature in promotional bumpers introducing other Cartoon Networks shows throughout the day.

Produced by Animation Collective, TWF follows the adventures of 56 thumb wrestlers who fight for two teams, the Mighty Dextera and the Sinistras.
