Strike.TV goes live

The brains behind Strike.TV, the internet TV channel created by and for Hollywood writers, have given viewers a clue as to what they can expect.

The launch slate features a host of projects from well-known TV writers. Upcoming scripted programming includes Daryl From OnCar from Malcolm in the Middle scribe Ron Corcillo and John’s Hand from a host of writers including Kali Rocha (Grey’s Anatomy, Buffy The Vampire Slayer). There is also Smartest Man in the World, a gameshow from Rick Rosner (Jimmy Kimmel Live).

Other scripted shows announced include Unknown Sender, starring Timothy Dalton and Joanne Whalley and House Poor from Lester Lewis, writer-producer on the US version of The Office.

The ad-supported channel is the brainchild of Peter Hyoguchi who came up with the idea during the recent writers’ strike. It is accepting work from writers affiliated to a professional Hollywood guild or union.

It has been put together for less than $10,000 and will generate its first three months ad revenue to an actors’ fund.
