GTV, Ziegler ready $28m Henri IV miniseries
French producer GTV and Germany’s Ziegler Film are about to start work on a €18 million historical miniseries.
German public broadcaster ARD and its French counterpart France 2 are also on board. GTV, which is owned by France’s Marathon, will be the minority partner in the project.
The series will be based upon German author Heinrich Mann’s historical novel Henri IV and will bear the same name. It will start shooting in September.
Directed by Jo Baier, the €18 million production will star French actor Julien Boisselier as Henri IV. In Germany, Henri IV will be have a theatrical and TV releases.
