Seven, Ten bask in summer ratings win
Seven has won the Australian ratings battle for the summer period. Seven was the most popular of the three commercial networks across the season with a 38.1% share ahead of Nine with 34.7% ad Ten with 27.2%.
At the same point last year Nine beat Seven into second but Seven had the top two rating programmes through the summer, both coverage of the Australian Open Tennis. Nine’s top rating programme was coverage of the Twenty/20 cricket, which was third most popular overall.
Ten had the most popular entertainment program with So You Think You Can Dance.
Ten skews younger than its rivals and won the battle for viewers in the 16-to-39-year-old category with a 37.4% share, ahead of Seven and Nine, which both had 31.3% shares.
Other entertainment shows in the top twenty included launch episode of The Biggest Loser and Spicks and Specks: A Very Specky Christmas and The Vicar of Dibley on ABC.
