John Marley sets up Archie Productions

TV producer John Marley has set up a UK-based indie producer, Archie Productions.

It will develop and produce kids, entertainment and factual entertainment content and has twelve projects in development. Marley told TBIvision he hopes to announce the first commission soon.

Marley wants to create an organisation under the Archie umbrella that will provide a place for creatives from within and outside the industry to develop ideas.

"Creativity can come from anywhere, not just the media industry," Marley says. "What can get lost now is the idea. We’re often developing brands as much as we are developing ideas – but ideas need to be fleshed out before they can become a brand."

Details about the projects are scarce but one focuses on kids and the environment and was brought to Archie by a member of the UN.

Marley left Talent TV to set up the new company. At Talent, he produced Cartoon Network series Skatoony. Other credits include Noel’s House Party and Through the Keyhole. Archie is named after his pet dog.
