Oz ratings 2007: winners and losers

Network Seven extended its overall ratings lead in 2007 with a 37.6% audience share across all ages groups, a 2% increase on the previous year.

Network Nine saw its year-on-year share slide and CEO, David Gyngell said: "We are pleased to have 2007 behind us. We’re building for 2008 and beyond."

Ten, which traditionally occupies third spot but does well among younger viewers, had a 28.2% share in 2007 compared with 28.5% in 2006.

But Ten, which has The Biggest Loser, Thank God You’re Here and Big Brother, did prevail in the 18-to-49-year old demo. It won a 34.5% share over the year, which put it slight behind Seven, which had 35.4% and well ahead of Nine, which had 30%.

Across all age groups the three most popular programmes were sports. Sports aside, Dancing with the Stars and Kath & Kim on Seven and the finale of The Biggest Loser on Ten were top of the heap.
