NBC acquires web series Quarterlife

NBC has acquired Quarterlife, the made-for-web series produced by thirtysomething and My So Called Life creators Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick.

The network’s international distribution arm NBC Universal International Television Distribution has also picked up the international distribution rights to the series and will be selling it to broadcasters worldwide.

It will air the series in early 2008 as 6x1hour episodes after it has finished airing online as 36x8mins clips.

NBC Universal has taken an equity stake in the series, although Marshall Herskovitz told TBIvision that he and Zwick would keep majority control.

"I need to own this and control it but if I can get this on television owning it and controlling it that will be unique and I will be thrilled," he said.
