Maldini exits WME-IMG for Blue Ant
Alex Maldini is leaving WME-IMG to become VP of international sales and acquisitions at Canada’s Blue Ant International.
The former DCD Media formats chief has been working at talent agency WME-IMG as VP of entertainment, sales and acquisitions for the past six years.
At Blue Ant, he will be based in London and oversee sales in the UK, Scandinavia, the Benelux region and Italy, and is tasked with expanding the company’s third party content library.
He will report to Solange Atwood, senior VP at Blue Ant International, who said: “Alex has a proven track record of success in global content distribution across multiple platforms and building third party content acquisition pipeline.
“Blue Ant International has significant plans to invest in third party programming and we are confident that Alex’s expertise will see our catalogue expand with more premium content.”
At WME-IMG, Maldini oversaw catalogue sales in the UK, Scandinavia and Benelux, and global pan-regional deals. He also led sales and acquisitions strategy for the entertainment division.
Priot to that, he had been VP of sales and acquisitions and head of factual and formats at UK-based DCD and director of sales and marketing for September International.
