Benelux nets look fowards to This Time Next Year
Deals for hot UK format This Time Next Year don’t appear to be slowing as 2017 gets underway.
RTL in Holland and VRT in Belgium have commissioned local versions of the show, which Twofour Rights sells internationally.
The series was the objectively the breakout format of 2016, with a majority of executives polled in TBI’s recent Year in Review feature singling the ITV series out as the format industry hit of the past 12 months.
Twofour Rights, which is part of ITV-owned Twofour Group, shopped the format to around ten international broadcasters before it had gone on air on UK commercial TV, which is rare occurrence.
Vorst Media will produce the 6x60mins Dutch version for RTL, while VRT’s 8x60mins effort come from DeMensen.
The deals, which Twofour Rights senior sales exec Eniela Bella secured, bring total sales to date to 14. Other buyers include RTL in Germany and TV2 in Denmark.
