TRX adds Audio Network exec as deputy CEO
Online trading platform TRX has hired Juliette Squair from TV music company Audio Network to become its deputy CEO.
This comes hot on the heels of UK channels groups Sky and Channel 4 buying into TRX parent Dial Square 86 as part of a recent £5.2 million (US$7 million) funding round.
At indie music firm Audio Network, Squair was chief strategy officer, though she takes on her new post having already been an existing advisory board member.
TRX, which allows distributors to display and distribute content digitally from a single platform, sees Squair has an exec with experience of growing a disruptive business model. Audio Network began as a small start-up, but it is now a major international music creator and provider.
Squair has been with Audio Network since its inception in 2002, but also has a background in television, working for the likes of C4 and the BBC.
At TRX, she will work alongside CEO and co-founder Matthew Frank, particularly focusing on managing the rights buyers using the TRX site.
TRX has staffed up significantly since the former Zodiak Media Group CEO David Frank and his brother Matthew, the ex-chief executive of Zodiak Rights, established the business in 2015.
Her hire comes soon after the exit of Sarah Walker, the company’s chief marketing officer, who is understood to have left recently.
The Dial Square 86 subsidiary is currently in beta phase and operational in Asia, where Vision New Media was recently signed up as its regional agent, and the central and eastern European region.
The plan is to offer acquisitions execs around 10,000 hours of programming, offering them the opportunity to securely licence content and complete deals online.
