Zee hires distribution veteran for sales

Indian media giant Zee has recruited experience distribution exec Janice Strangward to head its European programme sales effort.

Strangward has worked in the sales divisions of Canada’s CBC, Discovery EMEA, Entertainment One and Passion.

She was most recently at Al Jazeera, as a senior content sales executive. At Zee she will be based in London and run its European sales operation.

“As a globally recognised, and highly-respected executive, Janice is ideally placed to lead our European growth strategy,” said Sunita Uchil, chief business officer, international ad sales, global syndication and production, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited.

She added: “The Zee library contains many  top rating and award winning local formats. Janice will work on adapting  these for the European market. She will also lead our co-production strategy in the region.”
