Ex-Banijay sales exec joins New Flemish Primitives
Former Banijay International sales manager Siobhan Herriot is joining The Flemish Primitives as head of sales.
She joins the Brussels-based distributor on June 1, reporting to general manager Steven Allcock.
Herriot (pictured left) will work out of London and Brussels, selling formats such as The Mole, Eternal Glory and new efforts The House and Like an Animal. She will be with TNFP at NATPE Europe, as she focuses on emerging markets such as central and eastern Europe.
Herriot left Banijay International as it rebranded as Zodiak Rights following the merger of Banijay Group and Zodiak Media earlier this year.
TBI broke the news all of Banijay International’s sales staff would leave following the consolidation, with managing director Emmanuelle Namiech among those who left as the Banijay International brand was discontinued.
Herriot had for four years overseen format sales into eastern Europe, Turkey and the Benelux region, and previously worked at Zodiak and Zeal Entertainment, which DRG acquired.
She now joins a new-look TNFP, which Allcock is now leading after the exit of founder and MD Sue Green, news TBI broke this month.
Flemish indies De Filistijnen, deMENSEN and Woestijnvis remain the firm’s financial backers as it seeks new growth.
Herriot will take on Green’s format sales duties, with Allcock overseeing finished tape. “Siobhan will play an important role in the expansion of TNFP, both in terms of catalogue and territories,” said Allcock.
“As an independent distributor owned by producers and representing major broadcasters and production companies in Belgium, we have a well-tested catalogue of strong formats, new factual documentaries and exciting drama,” said Herriot.
“Also we have complete freedom in how we work, connecting the right partners with the right content.”
Herriot is not the only ex-Banijay sales staffer to gain a new role in recent months. Ex-head of global sales Michael Jackson joined Canada-based Blue Ant International at the end of March.
