Damon, Affleck sci-fi goes to series in US
US cable channel Syfy has greenlit a 13-episode season of Incorporated, a futuristic thriller from Hollywood stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
Damon and Affleck will produce the series through their Pearl Street Films imprint, which they run with Jennifer Todd, plus CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions, the latter of which is part of Syfy parent NBCUniversal.
Incorporated is set in a future where corporations have near-total power, and follows a young executive who conceals his identity in order to infiltrate the dangerous corporate world and save the woman he loves.
David and Alex Pastor co-created the series, and wrote and directed a pilot for Syfy.
Ted Humphrey will serve as executive producer and showrunner, with Affleck, Damon and Todd also EPs. Pearl Street’s Margaret Chernin will coproduce.
CBS Studios International has taken global sales rights, while for Syfy the series is added to a 2016 line-up that already includes The Expanse, The Magicians, Hunters, season two of 12 Monkeys and anthology series Channel Zero.
