Hincks to exit Endemol Shine
Endemol Shine Group’s president, Tim Hincks, has decided to leave the mega-indie.
This ends a 17-year association with Endemol Shine and its predecessor, Endemol.
Hincks was effectively named as Endemol Shine’s number two upon its creation at the beginning of last year, with Sophie Turner Laing installed as CEO.
However, he will leave the company in March, at which time he will “take the time to consider the future and to get round to doing all the things I haven’t had time to do, like remembering my children’s names, for example”.
Endemol Shine said announcements “regarding how Hincks’ responsibilities will be fulfilled following his departure will be announced in due course”.
Hincks’ departure follows those of international operations co-CEO Gary Carter, Endemol Shine UK chairman Lucas Church and other big-name executives such as Michael Porseryd, David Flynn, Jane Featherstone and Nadine Nohr.
“The role Tim has played in the success of the business has simply been exceptional,” said Turner Laing. “Throughout his time at the company he has combined outstanding creative leadership with a keen entrepreneurial spirit, not to mention a brilliant sense of humour and fun.
“Though sad to be losing him I do respect his desire for fresh adventures having contributed so much to the company over so many years. He will be greatly missed when he leaves us but will do so with all our very best wishes and heartfelt thanks.”
Hincks joined Endemol in 1999 after roles in factual and current affairs for UK pubcaster the BBC. He went on to hold a variety of management roles, initially at Endemol UK, before becoming company president in 2012.
He then took on the same post at Endemol Shine after 21st Century Fox and Apollo Global Management created the production and distribution joint venture that also includes Core Media Group.
