CTV buys The X Files
Canadian broadcaster CTV has bought the new X-Files series.
The reboot of the classic show will go out on CTV’s air, starting in late January.
It will also be on the CTV Go catch-up service and will then be added to the line-up on the CraveTV streaming service, which like CTV, is owned and operated by Canadian telco Bell.
Bell-owned cable channel Space will show 20 of the best-ever episodes of The X Files under an ‘Essential X-Files Collection’ banner.
CTV made the acquisition ahead of full details of its winter season line-up.
Mike Cosentino, senior VP, programming, CTV Networks and CraveTV said: “This event series is a perfect fit for CTV. And as an event series, it’s a perfect anchor to our Sci-Fi and Fantasy Collection on CraveTV.”
