ITV Studios poaches Nine Network boss
ITV Studios has poached David Mott to run its Australian business as CEO.
He is currently managing director of free-to-air broadcaster Nine Network’s Perth division and before that was chief programming officer at Network Ten, where he commissioned many hit programs including Big Brother, Australian Idol and Masterchef. He has also worked at Seven.
Mott joins ITV Studios Australia in November and will report to Maria Kyriacou, managing director, ITV Studios Global Entertainment and Rest of World. News of his potential appointment surfaced earlier this year and ITV has now confirmed his, noting he would shape its strategy in Australia going forwards.
Existing ITV Studios exec Augustus Dulgaro has been upped to COO of ITV Studios Australia and will be part of Mott’s team.
Kyriacou said: “David is an incredibly talented executive with unrivalled experience in production and broadcasting in Australia, coupled with a deep and detailed knowledge of viewers and hit programming.
“He is a fantastic leader with superb instincts, while Augustus has almost a decade of experience of leading ITVS GE’s Asia Pacific sales team to great success. They are a dream team for ITV Studios Australia and I look forward to welcoming David into the fold and seeing what they will achieve together.”
Mott said: “ITV Studios has an incredible reputation globally, and I look forward to playing my part in its continued success and growth.”
The Australian exec had been linked to the role in local reports. He fills a role vacated by Anita Jacoby.
