Ex-ITV Studios producer joins Ten
Australia’s Network Ten has hired former ITV Studios Australia head of entertainment Hilary Innes.
She will take up a currently unspecified position “a senior member of the executive production team,” reporting to chief programming officer Beverley McGarvey, the network revealed in a press release.
Innes has worked on the Australian version of formats such as I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Next Top Model and Come Dine with Me, as well as Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, Please Marry My Boy and The Royal Flying Doctor Service.
As well as her run at ITVS Australia, which came to an end last month, Innes has worked as head of entertainment for Ten rival Nine Network and was a series producer for Seven Network.
The news comes soon after Ten, which has had a good 2015 in terms of ratings to date, was able to ease its financial woes by selling a 15% stake in the business to News Corp.-backed pay TV firm Foxtel.
“I’ve known and respected Hilary for many years and am delighted she has agreed to join Ten,” said McGarvey. “Ten is the fastest growing commercial network in Australia this year – thanks to hit shows such as MasterChef Australia, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Family Feud, The Project, The Living Room, The Bachelor Australia, Have You Been Paying Attention?, Shark Tank and Gogglebox – and the time is right to add to our very talented executive production team.”
“Having enjoyed a very successful and close working relationship with Beverley and her senior team, developing and overseeing content like Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, this feels like the perfect fit.”
She begins the role tomorrow.
