Davina McCall, ITV plan for This Time Next Year
The Million Pound Drop presenter Davina McCall will front a 6x60mins studio-based entertainment series showcasing incredible transformations for UK broadcaster ITV.
This Time Next Year will see McCall hosting and meeting people from around the UK who pledge what they will have changed about themselves over the following 12 months. Using a ‘time travel’-style format, the contributor will leave the studio only to re-emerge transformed minutes later.
Elaine Bedell, ITV’s director of entertainment and comedy, and Amanda Stavri, ITV’s entertainment commissioner ordered the show, which comes from TwoFour Group, whose chief creative officer Andrew Mackenzie and managing director Melanie Leach are executive producing.
ITV will be hoping the show becomes a format hit for TwoFour, as it is currently in the process of buying TwoFour Group as it searches for a new generation of entertainment hits. The company has already bought The Voice creator Talpa Media and prolific US cable producer Leftfield Entertainment among a number of other deals.
