Peter Pan to take flight with Red Arrow
Red Arrow has snagged international rights to Peter & Wendy, a contemporary version of Peter Pan that has just been commissioned by UK broadcaster ITV.
The new version of the classic kids and family story will run to two hours for ITV, and Red Arrow will take it to market internationally.UK-based Headline Pictures (The Musketeers) and Catalyst Global Media will produce.
The cast for the new adaptation of the J.M. Barrie classic includes Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games) as Captain Hook and pop star Paloma Faith as Tinker Bell.
Laura Fisher (Breaking Bad) will also appear with newcomers Zac Sutcliffe and Hazel Doupe in the Peter and Wendy roles.
Producer Stewart Mackinnon said: “The drama will retain the classic structure and content of J.M Barrie’s original Peter Pan, while adding a new framing story designed to allow audiences a different way into the story.”
ITV’s director of drama Steve November added: This wonderful interpretation by Adrian Hodges (Musketeers) is faithful to Barrie’s original, but adds a new and unexpected dimension that makes it feel as though we are hearing the story for the first time.”
