Ex-Eyeworks exec joins DRG
Former Eyeworks International Distribution acquisitions chief Katy Cundall has joined UK-based distributor DRG, TBI has learned.
DRG confirmed she had joined the Nice Entertainment Group-owned company as VP, factual acquisitions, and will report to Noel Hedges, who was promoted to executive VP, content in January. She will work across all factual acquisitions for the distributor.
“DRG values our large network of independent producers and Katy coming on board will help us further our ongoing strategy of acquiring the best factual content, as well as help us grow our relationships further,” said Hedges.
Earlier this year, Caitlin Meek-O’Connor left DRG’s acquisitions team to become head of acquisitions at Beyond Distribution. She was acquisitions manager, factual and factual entertainment.
Cundall was previously at US-based EID, which effectively ceased to operate after Warner Bros. acquired its catalogue as part of the deal for the wider Eyeworks Group.
Other EID execs have gone on to launch their own companies such as in the case of Tyler Massey, while others went to other US-based vendors such as Ted Bookstaver’s hire at Shine America.
EID sister company Eyeworks USA was rebranded as 3 Ball Entertainment.
Cundall exited her head of acquisitions post mid-way through the year, and is thought to have been consulting since.
She has also held posts at BSkyB (now Sky), Channel 4 and Channel 5.
