Ex-MundoFox boss joins Latino MCN
Former MundoFox president Emiliano Saccone has joined a new Millennials-focused digital entertainment company.
Saccone (pictured) will be COO of FAV! Network, a multichannel network of Spanish-, English- and Portuguese-language channels focusing on owned-and-operated Latin lifestyle, food, entertainment, kids, music, tech and gaming and drama.
Saccone left Fox International Channels and RCN Television Group joint venture MundoFox 12 months ago citing a “very personal decision” that involved a desire to find more “entrepreneurial” ventures. He was replaced by Katz Broadcasting’s Ibra Morales.
CEO Alejandro Burato has launched FAV! With backing from a group of private investors. The company has offices in LA, Buenos Aires in Argentina and Central America.
Burato previously worked in several senior assets management roles in the hedge fund and venture capital sectors. In these roles he secured financing for feature films, TV projects and technologies.
“We all know where Millennials spend most of their time watching video,” he said. “Many of us see it at home through our children first-hand everyday. FAV! is here to capitalise on that, except it will do so without any geographic boundaries from the get-go.
He added he “couldn’t wish for anyone with a better track record in producing content and reaching Latino audiences across Latin America and the US” than Saccone.
