Grindon joins Rosenblum at Legendary TV
Former Sony Pictures Television International president Michael Grindon has taken control of a new worldwide distribution business at US film firm Legendary Pictures.
At Legendary TV, Grindon will work with former Warner Bros. Television Group boss Bruce Rosenblum, who has been Legendary TV and Digital Media’s president since last summer, to build a television sales business.
This comes after Legendary last year acquired The Kennedys producer Asylum Entertainment, which produces TV shows, to announce its move into television.
Grindon headed up SPT International for more than 15 years before exiting in March 2010 when SPT’s US and global units merged, with Steve Mosko leading the group as president.
Grindon then reemerged as House of Cards producer Media Rights Capital before MIPCOM in 2012, as TBI revealed at the time, to consult on international sales.
“Legendary is well positioned and ready to take this next step in the expansion of our global television studio infrastructure, and Michael is the perfect partner to execute this vision with us.” said Rosenblum.
“He has successfully operated at the highest levels of the international marketplace and acutely understands the shifting landscape. I’m confident he will build a nimble and innovative infrastructure that will enable Legendary to deliver on its promise of producing and distributing quality television on a worldwide basis.”
Rosenblum joined Legendary as television and digital boss after narrowly missing out on the Warner Bros. Entertainment president job to Kevin Tsujihara.
