Zig Zag ups Graff as Monks goes it alone
Zig Zag Productions has upped Matt Graff to VP, commercial and current production to replace Leila Monks at the UK indie producer, as she exits to set up her own content consultancy, Antidote Media.
Monks will continue to work with Zig Zag on distribution, presales and coproduction on a consultancy basis.
She will also work with production companies and distributors in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia and develop her own slate of programming under the Antidote banner. She joined Zig Zag in 2011 from factual distributor TVF International.
“After ten years in the industry I feel it’s time to set up on my own,” Monks said. “My experience across both the commercial and creative sides of the business means I am uniquely placed to help producers not only get shows off the ground but also see them through delivery. I’m really excited about Antidote and the potential.”
Prior to Zig Zag, Graff was CEEMEA senior director production and commissioning at Viacom. In his new role at Zig Zag he has been upped from executive consultant and will oversee all commercial opportunities in the UK and internationally.
“Matt initially joined us to oversee our Israeli relationships and to run our YouTube channels. He has made such a successful impact in his short time with us and has worked so well alongside Leila he is a natural successor to fill the commercial role at Zig Zag,” said company CEO Danny Fenton.
Zig Zag recently launched its first thematic YouTube channel, All Time Magic, with mutli-channel operator Diagonal View. Other lifestyle networks are understood to be in the works.
