Heaney’s TCB snags Aussie content deal

TCB Media Rights has added more Australian programming to its growing catalogue after cutting a new representation deal with production company Cordell Zapruder Jigsaw.

CZJ is the top independent producer in Australia and has extended operations into New Zealand with the acquisition of Kiwi producer Greenstone.

TCB, which this week announced new hires, will bring CZJ shows including the award-winning immigration-focussed series Go Back to Where You Came From to the international market.

Other fact-ent series include Bondi Rescue as well as shows from the Gruen satire programming franchise including Gruen Planet, Gruen Sweat and Gruen Nation.

CJZ had been handling its own distribution but head of sales Kristin Burgham will hand over sales duties to TCB.

TCB founder Paul Heaney (pictuted) enjoyed success selling Australian series including Border Security while running the sales operation at Cineflix.

“I have seen the level of quality content being produced out of Australia and New Zealand get better and better over the last 15 years and have hugely enjoyed finding new audiences for it all over the world,” said Heaney.

“TCB will not just head up the exploitation of existing non-scripted shows but will also employ its expertise to get more shows into production.”
