Turner says global restructure won’t impact Lat-Am

zeiler_173000The wholesale management changes and job losses seen at Turner’s operations in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions will not spread to its business in Latin America.

Following international president (pictured) Gerhard Zeiler’s restructure of the international business and several senior management changes, including the departure of Steve Marcopoto, announced yesterday, there has been speculation that the Latin America business was the next in line for streamlining.

However, the business is performing strongly and is not about to be restructured, TBI understands.

Underlining the point, Juan Carlos Urdaneta, president of Turner Broadcasting System Latin America, has extended his contract under Zeiler’s leadership, TBI has learned.

Turner’s Latin business has offices in Buenos Aires, Chile, Colombia, Miami, Mexico, and Sao Paulo and runs channels including Boomerang, Cartoon Network, CNN, TCM and TBS.

Urdaneta has been at the firm since 1994 and has signed a multiyear contract at the company.
