BBCWW cooks up new lifestyle shows
BBC Worldwide Channels has ordered a pair of cooking series featuring chef Rachel Khoo (above).
The 10x25mins shows, Rachel Khoo’s London Food Diary (WT) and Cosmopolitan Cook (WT) will be fully funded by BBCWW Channels, as part of a commitment to increase the number of originally-produced hours on the global network to 100 by 2014.
Both come from BBC Bristol and BBCWW will handle all distribution rights.
The shows will launch globally on BBC Lifestyle in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Poland and Scandinavia and on BBC HD in Latin America, Scandinavia and Poland in spring 2014,
BBCWW Channels VP, commissioning, Tracy Forsyth last year unveiled a ‘twin track’ commissioning strategy to order both international programmes for all markets and local productions for individual territories. She has since commissioned shows such as Best in Town, Bill’ Kitchen: Notting Hill and Million Dollar Intern.
