ITV Studios taps BBC Worldwide for Americas sales boss

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has appointed BBC Worldwide’s Americas coproductions chief Greg Johnson to become its new senior VP of sales.

Johnson will join the global arm of UK broadcaster ITV to head up its North and Latin American and Canadian sales operation, reporting into director, global television distribution, Tobias de Graaff and based in LA.

Johnson was previously senior VP, sales and coproductions, BBCWW Americas. He joined the BBC’s commercial arm in 2010 after a period as VP, sales, Asia Pacific for Disney Media Distribution.

Johnson’s duties encompass those left open since Noel Hedges left to join Shine International in 2011.

His other roles include chairman of Disney-backed Australian premium pay TV channel The Movie Network.

“Greg’s experience managing a diverse catalogue of world-leading content along with with his exceptional relationships in the region, will be a fantastic asset to the team,” said de Graaff.
