Danny Cohen names Charlotte Moore interim BBC One controller
Danny Cohen has named Charlotte Moore as acting controller of BBC One, filling the role he will vacate to become BBC director of television.
Cohen notified staff of the interim appointment in an email this morning. He starts in his new role on May 7 and Moore will fill in thereafter.
Moore has been at the BBC for four years and is commissioning editor for documentaries with responsibility for factual across all BBC channels. Her commissions include Lambing Live, Living with Alzheimers and Why did you Kill my Dad?
Previously a producer and director, her programming credits include credits include Great Britons: Churchill and Living With Cancer.
Cohen said: “I’m confident she will do a great job as interim Controller following her spell recently in charge of the BBC Daytime portfolio. The most important thing is that we carry on with business as usual and Charlotte will be empowered to make commissioning decisions and maintain BBC One’s momentum.”
