CTV buys ABC version of The Taste
CTV has acquired The Taste, the cooking competition format fronted by Nigella Lawson and Anthony Bourdain.
The Canadian free-to-air broadcaster has bought the US version of the format, which is on US network ABC.
“The Taste is a great twist on the traditional culinary series.” Said Mike Cosentino, senior VP, programming, CTV Networks, Bell Media. “That combined with the stellar casting and the concept is going to help satisfy Canadians ever growing appetite for food-centric programming.”
The show was created by US producer Kinetic Content, which is owned by German production and distribution firm Red Arrow, which is in turn part of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group.
Red Arrow International sells the format internationally and has already shopped it to broadcasters including Prime (New Zealand) Fox (India), Nine Network (Australia) and M6 (France).
