Hulu strikes Nickelodeon deal
Hulu has struck a deal with kids broadcaster Nickelodeon that will see kids series including SpongeBob Squarepants on the online video service.
The deal means that Nickelodeon content will join content from MTV, BET, Comedy Central, VH1 and Spike TV on the service.
Shows will launch on Hulu’s premium platform Hulu Plus, which has over 2 million subscribers.
Series including iCarly, Big Time Rush, How To Rock, Supah Ninjas, Kung Fu Panda, Penguins of Madagascar, Winx Club, the forthcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot and SpongeBob.
The agreement will also see Viacom make full episodes of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report available on the company’s free ad-supported service.
