Endemol picks up Seven’s My Kitchen Rules
Endemol has picked up international rights to Australian reality series My Kitchen Rules. The show has performed well on free-to-air network Seven in Australia and Endemol Worldwide Distribution will launch it internationally at MIP TV in April.
My Kitchen Rules is a 15x1hr series made by Seven in which aspiring chefs compete against each other and transform their home into a restaurant for a night.
Cooking shows are in vogue in Australia at the moment and Shine International-distributed cooking competition MasterChef was a huge ratings hit for Ten. The finale was the most-watched TV show ever in the country, excluding sports events.
My Kitchen Rules is Seven Network’s contribution to the cooking series genre. The series debuted at start-February and has averaged a 28% audience share across its first four episodes.
Endemol will distribute the finished series and the format.
