John McMahon leaves Sony Pictures TV

Sony Pictures Television, the international production and distribution arm of the Hollywood studio, is set to be shaken up following the departure of European president and managing director John McMahon.

McMahon has been promoted to managing director, Europe, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, reporting to Matt Brown, EVP, international, SPHE. McMahon will oversee SPHE’s European division and be responsible for the company’s DVD, Blu-ray and digital businesses.

He was previously in charge of all of the company’s television businesses across Europe including local production arms and international distribution business.

A replacement at Sony Pictures Television is expected to be announced later this year.
