Satisfaction hires Secuoya, Boomerang alum as content chief in Spain
Production firm Satisfaction Group has landed execs including Secuoya Studios’ David Gallart to its nascent Spanish operation.
Satisfaction Iberia, which was launched by former Mediacrest executive director Daniel Domenjó in November, has named Gallart as its chief content officer, with Juan Navarrete joining as an associate consultant.
Gallart will lead production and development of the division’s scripted and unscripted formats in Spain and Lat Am, working closely with head of international content & business, David Llanes.
He reports into Domenjó, who is CEO, and joins having led docuseries such as PornoXplotación, 13 Días and Flight JK5022 for Secuoya.
Before that, Gallart was head of entertainment development for Boomerang and Veranda TV in Spain and Lat Am, where he was responsible for formats such as Top Chef Chile and Pesadilla En La Cocina (Kitchen Nightmares) in Chile.
Navarrete, meanwhile, has been an executive producer, showrunner and director of fiction and entertainment, with credits on shows including the adaptation of Ninja Warrior for Antena 3, Inocente, Inocente for La 1 and Baila Si Puedes for TV Azteca.
Domenjó said: “I am proud to be able to count on the trust, talent and prestige of two renowned professionals with great experience in both Spain and Latin America. Their recruitment consolidates a first-class founding team, both for its human factor and for its successful background.”
Satisfaction Iberia named Llanes and Jordi Rosell as its first content managers earlier this year, with the company looking to build on its parent outfit’s growth.
France-based Satisfaction Group produces around 1,000 hours of TV a year for most major domestic channels and has global co-production agreements with firms including Talpa, Fulwell 73, Keshet and Yes Yes Media.
Satisfaction Iberia, meanwhile, has access to the group’s catalogue of formats and is also part of its international agreements. The label sits alongside pre-existing Satisfaction Group firms including Satisfaction, Ah! Production, La Grosse Équipe, Satisfy, Starling, Enibas Productions and Ellimac Productions.
