BBC Two orders Proper Pub Food

Tom Kerridge photoMichelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge will front a BBC Two series on how to cook the best pub food dishes.

Tom Kerridge’s Proper Pub Food will see the chef revealing secrets about dishes such as mussels in ale, cured roast beef and Yorkshire puddings. In between recipes, he will provide tips from his suppliers on sourcing the best ingredients and visit other pubs piushing the gastronomic boundaries.

BBC factual features and formats commissioning editor Alison Kirkham ordered the 6x30mins series, which has Outline Productions attached to produce. Kirkham executive produces along with Outline’s Bridget Boseley. Sally Wingate is senior producer.

It will launch this summer.

BBC Two has ordered another food series, titled The Incredible Spice Men: Todiwala And Singh, which will see Cyrus Todiwala and Tony Singh attempting to create a new British cuisine that reflects multiculturalism. The 5x30mins series comes from Nicola Gooch’s Alchemy TV.
