AMC launches AcornTV, UMC streamers on YouTube TV

AMC Networks is launching its UK drama-skewing streamer Acorn TV as well as its black TV and film OTT offering UMC on YouTube’s channels service.

Acorn TV’s YouTube service will offer shows including Martin Clunes-starring dramas Doc Martin and Manhunt, BBC cop show Line Of Duty and its originals such as Agatha Raisin, Queens of Mystery and Mystery Road.

Keeping Faith, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, and Midsomer Murders are also on the slate for the service, which will cost $6 a month.

The slate for UMC, which will cost $5, includes drama A House Divided, original reality show Beyond The Pole and Craig Ross Jr.’s Monogamy, which will return for its second season later this year.

Network TV shows such as OWN’s Black Love and WEtv’s Growing Up Hip Hop, as well as sitcoms including UPN’s All Of Us, will also feature.

The streamers will join AMC sister services Shudder, Sundance NOW, and AMC Premiere as part of YouTube TV’s line-up of streaming service add-on options.

Over the past year, Acorn TV and UMC have been expanding their availability across other platforms, most recently joining Apple TV Channels and The Roku Channel. Others ares set to be added later this year.
