Viasat Nature acquires Power’s The Cheetah Diaries

Pan regional broadcaster Viasat has picked up wildlife series The Cheetah Diaries across Scandinavia and Eastern Europe after striking a deal with Power.

Viasat has acquired four seasons of the doc series for its Viasat Nature channel. It has bought pay TV, basic cable, subscription video-on-demand and transactional video-on-demand rights.

The 13x30mins series is produced by NHU Africa and narrated by Michaela Strachan. It follows the lives of a number of cheetahs from birth as well as the conservationists that work with them.

Power’s VP, international sales Georgina McNeilly said: “We are delighted to have closed this deal with Viasat. The sale of all four series to such a prominent broadcaster is a true credit to the standard of the programme and gives further traction to the development of our factual operation.”
