Sony Pictures Television (SPT)’s global scripted chief Nina Lederman is leaving the company.

Lederman joined Sony in 2018 as EVP of global scripted development & programming, working with SPT’s international prodcos such as The Crown firm Left Bank and shepherding shows including Netflix’s My Life With The Walter Boys.

Her exit is understood to have been as a result of recent market shifts and a refocusing on local international production.

She was based in LA and will exit Sony in June after which the position will no longer exist, according to Deadline which broke the news. No other positions are affected.

SPT president, Wayne Garvie, said: “Nina has been a wonderful colleague and friend, helping so many of us navigate the choppy waters of international television. She leaves us with fond memories and our best wishes for the future.”

Lederman’s remit had been to expand SPT’s US and international TV slate, including formats, by leading more creative partnerships between US development and international production teams.

She joined Sony having been EVP of scripted programming at All3Media America, where she advised on scripted development slates for labels under the All3Media umbrella and consulted on the sales strategy for UK originals.

Her executive producer credits include Kaos (Netflix) and Accused (Paramount Network).

Prior to that, she served as senior VP of scripted programming and development at Lifetime Television, where she developed scripted series UnReal. Lederman got her start in the industry as VP of production for NBC Studios.
