Amazon’s Prime Video has confirmed a second season of video game adaptation Fallout, less than two weeks after its first run debuted.

The series is produced by Kilter Films and executive producers Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, who told TBI earlier this month that he had treated the show as a new entry in the game franchise.

The show, which also has Amazon MGM Studios and Bethesda Game Studios attached, is based on the franchise that first launched in 1997.

It does not follow any pre-existing narrative but instead tells a new story in the Fallout world that has been expanding across multiple game entries for more than 25 years.

The series stars Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Aaron Moten (Emancipation), Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight) and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks).

“The bar was high for lovers of this iconic video game and so far we seem to have exceeded their expectations, while bringing in millions of new fans to the franchise,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios.

Athena Wickham of Kilter Films also executive produces, along with Todd Howard for Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks.
