Paris-based producer & distributor Mediawan has acquired the rights to adapt two South Korean entertainment formats for Spanish audiences.

Still Alive is a mystery reality game show, while Battle In The Box is a competition show, with both hailing from Seoul-based format specialists Something Special.

Mediawan’s Veranda label will produce the Spanish version of Still Alive, which sees ten contestants seeking clues and completing challenges in a mysterious mansion. They can only remain in the 24-hour game by ignoring some new forbidden rules presented every four hours.

The firm’s Boomerang outfit will meanwhile produce the Spanish version of celebrity competition format Battle In The Box, which sees two teams of famous faces enter an empty box divided by a movable wall armed only with a toothbrush to live with for 24 hours. Teams earn space and luxuries by conquering physical and mental challenges.

As well as these new deals, Something Special is also preparing to present its new dating format I Am Single (aka I Am Solo) at MIPFormats and MIPTV next week.
