Cineflix Rights has picked up a raft of shows including a BBC Kurt Cobain documentary and a French factual series about Egypt ahead of MIPTV next week.

Moments That Shook Music: Kurt Cobain (1 x 60 minutes) is from Touchdown Films for BBC Two and iPlayer, with the doc using archive footage to explore the days that led up to the iconic musician taking his own life.

Docudrama Ramses The Great: King of Ancient Egypt (6 x 60 minutes) is from Pernel Media for Planète+ and C8 in France. It uses cutting-edge science and unique access to the latest archaeological discoveries to explore how the Egyptian ruler has remained a caricature of his own propaganda.

Other shows added to the Cineflix slate include CBC’s Little Sapiens from Idéacom International, which explores how prehistoric children may have been drivers of human evolution, and Lifetime’s Girl In The Video, which explores the abduction, survival and rescue of a 15-year-old girl.

Cineflix Productions’ Crimes Of Fashion: Killer Clutch has also been added to the slate for MIPTV, joining Cineflix Rights’ broader slate that includes new dramas So Long, Marianne and In Memoriam.

Richard Life, SVP of acquisitions and co-productions at Cineflix Rights, said: “Blue-chip ancient history documentaries and popular culture content about contemporary figures are forever in demand from buyers, especially when they explore iconic figures or civilisations which have global appeal.”
