PBS Int’l targets Lat Am with Sabrina Hall Aguirre promotion

PBS International is looking to expand its activity in Lat Am and has upped Sabrina Hall Aguirre to become sales manager for the region.

Aguirre, who has been tasked with building partnerships and driving sales in Lat Am, will be focused on selling factual and children’s programming to buyers across the region.

Joe Barrett, VP of global sales for PBS International, said the move was part of a strategy to “expand business in the Lat Am region…”

Her appointment comes in tandem with PBS Distribution’s debut line-up of local language content tailored for the Latin American market, with shows such as Lyla In The Loop, A.I. Revolution and Fly With Me.

Earlier this month, US-based PBS hired BBC Studios exec Eniela Bella to work across its coproductions and distribution efforts.

Bella becomes director of co-production finance & sales and will set strategy, forecasting and negotiations for co-financing of non-scripted projects with a focus on the French and German markets.
