Amazon’s Prime Video has picked up Nippon TV’s action survival thriller series Acma: Game for global streaming.

The series will stream on Prime Video Japan starting 7 April, immediately after Nippon TV, with global streaming of the series to follow on Prime Video on 26 April. Hulu Japan will also stream the series immediately after Nippon TV’s broadcast.

Acma: Game is based on the manga of the same name written by Meeb and illustrated by Koji Megumi, which was serialized on Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from 2013 to 2017. It takes place in a devil’s realm where contestants are challenged to conquer the world by collecting 99 keys. Players are forced to participate, and if they lose, they cannot refuse any orders.

“Japan is known for exhilarating manga, but this one is exceptional. It’s a top-notch youth story, and above all, the game master is a devil,” commented Naoto Fujimura, producer at Nippon TV.

The series will join other Japanese titles on Prime Video, including originals such as Angel Flight, Knuckle Girl, Love Transit and The Silent Service Season 1 – The Battle of Tokyo Bay, the feature film which was extended into a series last year.
