Nutopia hires BBC alum Steve Condie as exec producer on Tom Hanks-led WW2 docuseries

Nutopia, the UK prodco behind Limitless With  Chris Hemsworth,  has hired former BBC exec Steve Condie as exec producer on a new World War Two docuseries.

He will work on the series alongside Nutopia’s Ben Goold, with the currently untitled project set to be an epic 20-part exploration of the conflict, hosted and narrated by Hollywood star Tom Hanks. Nutopia is producing alongside A+E Factual Studios for The History Channel.

During his time at the BBC, Condie served as executive producer on Thatcher: A Very British Revolution and Blair, Brown and The New Labour Revolution for BBC2.

More recently, he was SVP of content at Mercury Studios, where he was executive producer on films including My Life As A Rolling Stone, also for BBC2, overseeing the narrative and collaborating with rock stars The Rolling Stones, the BBC and MGM+.

Nutopia is also behind One Strange Rock for National Geographic, José Andrés & Family In Spain for Warner. Bros Discovery and Bad Surgeon: Love Under The Knife for Netflix.

Jane Root, CEO and founder, said that Condie “brings a wealth of experience” to the role, and described the new docuseries as “arguably one of our biggest projects yet, with one of our biggest stars.”
