The CW, Roku & Stan team for crime comedy ‘Good Cop/Bad Cop’
The CW in the US, Roku and Australian streamer Stan have partnered on comedy crime procedural Good Cop/Bad Cop from Jeff Wachtel’s Future Shack Entertainment and Jungle Entertainment.
The eight-part series is slated to begin production later this spring in Queensland, Australia, and is set to premiere on The CW in 2025 and will stream on The Roku Channel in the US and Stan in Australia. ITV Studios is distributing internationally.
Good Cop/Bad Cop follows Lou (Leighton Meester) and Henry (Luke Cook), an odd couple sister and brother detective team in a small Pacific Northwest police force. They must contend with colorful residents, a serious lack of resources, and their very complicated dynamic with each other and with their police chief, Big Hank (Clancy Brown) – who happens to be their father.
The series is written and executive produced by John Quaintance with Jeff Wachtel, Trent O’Donnell and Chloe Rickard serving as executive producers. Trent O’Donnell also serves as director with Phil Lloyd set as co-executive producer.
“Writer John Quaintance and executive producer Jeff Wachtel have created a fun and funny drama full of clever storytelling and irresistible characters that we are confident will resonate with audiences worldwide. With Jeff’s track record of launching shows like Suits, Dawson’s Creek, and Psych, we are thrilled for him to bring his hitmaking magic to The CW,” said Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment, The CW Network.”
Former NBCUniversal International Studios president Wachtel launched Future Shack Entertainment in July 2022, with the backing of Blink49 Studios and Roku, and is working on titles including Murder In A Small Town, based on L.R. Wright’s crime novel series, and an adaptation of Juliia Mendel’s memoir The Fight Of Our Lives, recounting her time as press secretary for president Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the run up to the Russian invasion.
