‘War Of The Worlds’ EP & ex-Studio Eight chief Jamie Brown dies, aged 78

War Of The Worlds exec producer and former Studio Eight Productions chief Jamie Brown has died, aged 78.

Brown served as an EP on Mammoth Screen’s historical thriller War Of The Worlds for BBC One and had been MD of Studio Eight before launching Grand River Productions in 2019.

The company, which had headquartered in London with an office in LA, was focused on development and catered to both film and TV markets, with talent packaging, financing and distribution capabilities in place.

The Canada-born producer had worked on an array of TV shows and films across his career, including 2009 series Alice and features such as Country Of My Skull (Juliette Binoche, Samuel L. Jackson), Captive (Isabelle Huppert) and To Walk With Lions (Richard Harris).

Brown is survived by his wife, Lorna; his three children, Jean-Pierre, Alex, and Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Amiel, Willow, Rudy and Frankie; and his two sisters, Cathleen and Sarah.
