SkyShowtime hires Disney & Fox alum for acquisitions & licensing
SkyShowtime has hired former Disney and Fox Networks Group exec Josephine Van As to oversee its acquisitions and licensing activity.
Van As will work under former Netflix exec Kai Finke, who was hired in September as chief content officer to replace the outgoing Jon Farrar.
Finke’s team oversees all programming for the Paramount Global and Sky joint venture, with responsibility for shows from partner studios, acquisitions and originals, as well as merchandising and scheduling.
Van As had most recently spent four years as senior acquisitions manager for Disney and before that was a channel manager at Fox Networks Group, which was acquired by the Mouse House in 2019.
SkyShowtime offers TV, movies and original series from NBCUniversal (NBCU), Sky and Paramount to subscribers in 20 countries across Europe.
Its slate includes Bosé, Codename: Annika, Fleeting Lies, Poker Face, The Invisible Ladies, The Winner and Warszawianka, the latter among programming to have been picked up from HBO Max’s now defunct CEE originals slate.
In February, the streamer confirmed its first Polish original with an adaptation of the crime novel Sleboda.
